Alma Mater

For the Glory of Old State
For her founders strong and great.
For the future that we wait,
Raise the song, raise the song.
Sing our love and loyalty,
Sing our hopes that bright and free
Rest, O Mother, dear with thee
All with thee, all with thee.
When we stood at childhood’s gate,
Shapeless in the hands of fate,
Thou didst mold us dear old State
Dear Old State, dear old State.
May no act of ours bring shame
To one heart that loves thy name,
May our lives but swell they fame,
Dear old State, dear old State.

~    Penn State's Joe Paterno Gets 400th Win   Players and Fans Share In The Victory & Most Wins Ever By A Major College Coach  ~

Penn State coach Joe Paterno is carried off the field by his players after getting his 400th collegiate win, defeating Northwestern, 35-21.      Associated Press

Joe Paterno rides to a victory celebration ....  Career win No. 400 for Penn State's beloved coach will be remembered in Happy Valley for a long time.  Backup quarterback Matt McGloin threw for four scores, the defense pitched a second-half shutout and the Nittany Lions came back from a three-touchdown deficit to defeat Northwestern 35-21 to get the 83-year-old Paterno his latest milestone.  "I would be dishonest if I told you it wasn't a moving night for me ... it was," Paterno said.  JoePa is the first major college coach to have 400 victories.  With over 100,000 fans chanting his name and waving signs that read, "400 The Paterno Way"  JoePa ended his brief postgame speech to the blue-and-white fans saying,  "People ask me why I've stayed here so long, and you know what, look around, look around."   Chants of "Joe Paterno! Joe Paterno!" thundered through the stands ....
